UPDATE - SUMMER 2019
The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, June 2019
As you will be aware, the Prime Minister resigned as Leader of the Conservative Party on Friday 7th June and a leadership race will take place over the next few weeks, with a new Leader and Prime Minister expected to be in place before the summer recess. In the midst of a constitutional crisis it is essential that someone who believes in democracy succeeds Theresa May. This is why I believe that Boris Johnson is the right person to lead the Conservative Party and more importantly, the nation.
During recess, Members of Parliament typically spend more time in their constituencies. I always enjoy attending events around North East Somerset during the summer recess, especially village fetes, which my diary might not normally permit owing to the restraints of having to be in London whilst the House is sitting. This extra time can be useful as it allows MPs to be more immediately available to constituents.
My office in Westminster will remain open as normal and I will continue to hold regular advice surgeries for constituents throughout the summer recess, please see www.jacobreesmogg.com for dates and details of how to make appointments.
