The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, March/April 2020

Having finally left the European Union on 31st January, Parliament remains busy whilst the Government legislates and enters into the negotiations that form the transition period which will run for the next eleven months, working out the future relationship between the UK and the EU.

During the transition period the current rules on trade, travel and business between the UK and EU will continue to apply. The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson set out in a speech on 3rd February his proposals for entering into transition period negotiations with all EFTA states.

The Government website has details on steps that you may need to take before the transition period ends: www.gov.uk/transition and will be updated throughout the transition period.  If you have any questions about how you will be affected that are not covered on the Government website, please do contact me and I will make representations to the Government on your behalf.

Whilst Parliament will be in recess over the Easter period, work will continue within the constituency and Westminster. Regular advice surgeries continue throughout the recess, please see this webpage for details of how to book appointments.

I would like to wish you all a happy Easter.
