The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, September/October 2020

Parliament returns on 1st September after the summer recess.  This year is, however, different to previous ones – not only because of the social distance measures that are in place but also because this year the party conferences will be held virtually.  The risk of holding conferences and other large gatherings remains too much of a risk in terms of the spread of Covid-19.

This latest guidance and changes to the lockdown guidelines is part of the Government’s carefully-designed policy to reduce the constraints of lockdown in a way that ought to keep the R rate down (the average number of secondary infections produced by one infected person).  All of this depends upon people following the rules, continuing to socially distance and wear masks in shops/confined public spaces and generally taking precautions to prevent the disease from continuing to spread.

If you need to contact me about any issue or for assistance I am here to help and constituents can contact my office by email: jacob.reesmogg.mp@parliament.uk.  I have also started holding regular constituency surgeries again. Details of how to book an appointment at one of my surgeries can be found here: www.jacobreesmogg.com/surgery
