SUMMER UPDATE
The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, July/August 2023
This year’s Summer Parliamentary Recess will begin when the House of Commons rises at the end of the day’s session on 20th July and business will resume on Monday 4th September.
Recently I have been contacted by numerous constituents about cuts to local bus services. These bus cuts will have a detrimental effect upon those who rely on public transport to get them to the shops, the GP practice or other necessary places.
I would like to reassure constituents that whilst I do not have direct influence over such decisions, I have continued to raise concerns, on behalf of those who have contacted me, with the Mayor of the West of England, Dan Norris and Bath and North East Somerset Council. I have also written to the Government about the cuts and threats to rural bus services and the impact that this is having upon my constituents in North East Somerset.
My office in Westminster will remain open as normal during the summer recess and I will continue to hold my regular advice surgeries for constituents.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance: jacob.reesmogg.mp@parliament.uk.
