SUMMER UPDATE
The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, July/August 2022
This year’s Summer Parliamentary Recess will begin when the House of Commons rises at the end of the day’s session on 21st July and business will resume on Monday 5th September.
During recess, Members of Parliament typically spend more time in their constituencies. I always try to make sure I attend events around North East Somerset during the summer recess which my diary might not normally permit owing to the restraints of having to be in London whilst the House is sitting.
Over recent months constituents have continued to raise a wide range of issues with me, including driving licences, passport delays, visas for Ukrainian refugees and the rising cost of living. I am proud to be part of a Government seeking to help people at this difficult time with measures such as a 6.6% rise to the National Living Wage, a £400 energy bill rebate grant payable in October 2022, a £150 cash rebate for homes in Council Tax bands A-D, boosting the Household Support Fund for local authorities and cutting fuel duty amongst many others.
My office in Westminster will remain open as normal and I will hold regular advice surgeries for constituents throughout the summer recess, please see the Surgeries page for details of how to make appointments.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance: jacob.reesmogg.mp@parliament.uk.
