As most people will no doubt be aware, the Queen has celebrated her 95th birthday this year. Whilst Her Majesty has, as usual, observed two birthdays – her birthday on 21st April and her public “official” birthday on 12th June, this year celebrations have been a more scaled back affair for the second year in a row. Next year, in 2022, there is to be an extra bank holiday day in order to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Anniversary – hopefully with a return to the full pomp and circumstance that the United Kingdom is so well known for.
Meanwhile, as you will be aware, the Prime Minister has announced the delay of the final stage of the unlocking of restrictions. Whilst this is undoubtedly disappointing, it makes sense to remain cautious with the prevalence of the fast spreading delta variant and ensure that once restrictions are fully lifted they are removed permanently.
