HELP FOR THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING

The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, January/February 2024

The New Year represents change and new resolutions.  This is by no means different in Parliament as Members of Parliament return to Westminster to continue the year’s work and continue to navigate the current economic challenges.

If you are struggling financially, you may be eligible for short-term crisis help from Bath and North East Somerset Council via their Welfare Support Scheme.  The amount of help available is based on your personal and financial circumstances.  Details can be found here

If anyone is concerned about someone they have seen sleeping rough you can alert the Council’s partner services via the StreetLink website or by telephoning 0300 500 0914 so that the person can be connected with local support.  If the person is under 18, please contact the police.  A directory of warm spaces compiled by the Council can be found here.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance: jacob.reesmogg.mp@parliament.uk.  Details of how to book an appointment at one of my surgeries can be found here.
