HAPPY NEW YEAR

The Farrington Gurney Parish Magazine, Jan/Feb 2022

The New Year represents change and new resolutions. This is as much the case in Parliament, as Members of Parliament return to Westminster, as it is elsewhere even as we continue to face challenges including Covid-19.

Following the discovery of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 we have seen a tightening of rules to try to slow down its spread. All contacts of those who test positive with a suspected case of Omicron will need to self-isolate for seven days, regardless of their vaccination status. Rules on face coverings in most indoor public venues have been tightened and anyone who is unvaccinated is encouraged to get the jab. Boosters are also advised for those who have had the immunisation. This is the best way to help speed up the return to normal and to keep ourselves and those around us safe.
