CORONAVIRUS - LOCAL ASSISTANCE
The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, May/June 2020
As you will all no doubt be aware, the Prime Minister announced on Monday 16th March that the country had to stay at home to stay safe, save lives and protect the NHS. The Government’s implementation of such stringent measures is in order to maximise public safety and ease the strain on the NHS and to dampen the curve of the spread of the virus to save lives.
Whilst the measures are vital to stymying the pandemic I am aware that real hardship has been experienced by many, whether they are vulnerable and struggling to book online delivery slots for food and essentials, working people who have been furloughed or lost their jobs or indeed employers who are struggling to keep their businesses running.
Local assistance with food and prescription delivery, business advice and support telephone lines can be found online through the 3SG Sustainable Food Partnership: https://www.3sg.org.uk/pages/sustainable-food-partnership and Bath and North East Somerset website:
These are unprecedented times and I understand the worry felt by many but by following Government guidelines we will emerge stronger and more united.
