BUS CUTS UPDATE
The Farrington Gurney Parish Journal, November/December 2023
In recent months I have been contacted by many of my constituents about local bus cuts and have continued to make representations to the relevant parties. Whilst the row between the Council and the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) has persisted, the Government has recently spent a further £80 million of taxpayers’ money to protect essential bus services and allow local authorities to make travel improvements in their communities.
It is, therefore, concerning that, whilst the Government has repeatedly poured money into North East Somerset via WECA and the Council, cuts to vital services have continued. We need answers and we need someone to take responsibility instead of passing the buck. These services must be reinstated so that people can live their lives in the way that the Government enables them to with constituents' hard-earned money.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance: jacob.reesmogg.mp@parliament.uk.
